Release of updated JEM-X calibration
====================================
The standard JEM-X calibration performed automatically at the start of
each INTEGRAL off-line scientific analysis (OSA) is not always
sufficient to get properly calibrated results. Problems in a number of
revolutions are corrected for by additional calibration files manually
generated by the JEM-X Team at the National Space Institute of the
Technical University of Denmark (NSI/DTU). When these files are part
of the INTEGRAL instrument characteristics they are automatically used
for calibration by the OSA software (either OSA 7.0 or 8.0).
The ISDC has now released version 8.0.1 of the INTEGRAL instrument
characteristics including new JEM-X 1 calibration files correcting for
a gain dependency with temperature. If you are analyzing JEM-X 1 data
from recent INTEGRAL revolutions, you should therefore update your
instrument characteristics by running the following command:
rsync -Lzrtv isdcarc.unige.ch::arc/FTP/arc_distr/ic_tree/prod/ $REP_BASE_PROD
This command will download the updated files (and only those) to your
computer in the $REP_BASE_PROD/ic/ and $REP_BASE_PROD/idx/ic/
directories, so make sure the $REP_BASE_PROD environment variable is
properly set.
