INTEGRAL Science Data Centre
Second INTEGRAL Data Analysis Workshop

October 12-15. 2005, Geneva, Switzerland

Three years after the launch and one and a half year after the first public data release, the INTEGRAL sky" becomes more and more populated: new sources are found each month, both in the "real-time" and "off-line" regime. The INTEGRAL archive becomes a more interesting place for "data mining": for almost any direction in the sky the accumulated exposure time of the publically available data grows each month.

The INTEGRAL data provide valuable infromation about high-energy activities of various classes of high-energy sources (X-ray binaries, pulsars, supernova remnants, gamma-ray bursts, active galaxies) in the hard X-ray and soft gamma-ray (10 keV-2 MeV) energy band. Very good (for this energy band) imaging capabilities enable to study spectral and timing characteristics of sources in such "crowded" fields as e.g. the Galactic Center.

Even if you have little or no expericence in working with the INTEGRAL data, but you expect your source of interest to be active in the 10 keV-MeV energy band, you may visit the 2nd INTEGRAL Data Analysis Workshop to get aquainted with the Offline Software Analysis (OSA) package which provides easy-to-use methods for imaging, spectral and timing analysis of the INTEGRAL data.
